Political participation of women

The national strategy to strengthen women’s rights in Tunisian aims to support the participation of Tunisian women in political and public life.

Based on its expertise in research, training, documentation and communication on women’s rights, CREDIF works hard to highlight Article 46 of the Tunisian Constitution which insists on: “The state is committed to protect the acquired rights of women, supports them and works to improve them.

The state guarantees equal opportunities for women and men to assume the various responsibilities and in all fields.

The state endeavors to achieve parity between women and men in elected councils. The state takes necessary measures to eradicate violence against women.
