Achievement of Tunisian Women
The Center for Research, Studies, Documentation and Information on Women (CREDIF) created in 1995, in collaboration with the Tahar Haddad Club, a prize “Zoubeida Bechir” to honor the first Tunisian poetess who published her first collection entitled “Nostalgia” in 1968.
This prize is awarded on 8 March each year, the date of the celebration of International Women’s Day. Distinguished Tunisian writers and researchers are honoured at this renewed cultural event.
The “Zoubeida Bechir” prize: Being a national achievement of Tunisian women which aims to increase their presence in the scientific and literary fields, to enhance their wining production and to encourage researchers to conduct scientific investigations on Tunisian women or adopting the gender approach and to contribute to the safeguarding of part of the national cultural heritage.
