Gender-based Violence
This axis is considered as one of the most important of the five axes of the five-year development plan for the years 2016-2020.
CREDIF has been involved in national efforts to end up violence against women by conducting studies and organizing raising-awareness activities on gender-based violence, the most important of which are: a study on gender-based violence in the public space (2016) and the study on “social representations of violence against women among men: youth and adults”, a qualitative survey on services for women victims of violence among service providers and users (Grand Tunis) (2017 in french), a qualitative study on “Gender-based violence against adolescent girls and their needs in terms of services” (2020), the study on “Women’s safety” (2020), and the study on “Violence against women in the digital space” (2020).
CREDIF has also contributed to advocacy for a law criminalizing violence against women and call upon decision-makers to adopt the project until the enactment of Organic Law No.58-2017 on the elimination of violence against women. And this, based on the training program “Towards a broad civic advocacy of the basic law on the elimination of violence against women” and the raising awareness campaign in the field against harassment in public transport, and thus, as part of the work of the Observatory of Gender and Equal Opportunity at CREDIF, the center has established a national strategy for the publication of specific indicators on violence against women.
